Work station
I have a very lovely working station that I use for my tinkering projects. I am someone who likes to play around with tools and design cool products.
I have a soldering machine, and a air suction machine for the soldering gas. I also have a magnifier that I use if I am soldering small wires on micro-electronics. In addition, I have a set of screws, nuts, wires and a basic mobile robot frame that I use to assemble motors and electronics on the frame. I used this kit to build various projects like a RC car, line following robot, and a solar cleaning robot. Also I have a set of electronics. This includes an Arduino for programming medium sized projects, a Rasbery Pi4 for more complicated projects, DC motors, relays, motor drivers, breadboards, push buttons and LEDs. |
About me
Education
I started my undergraduate education journey in Egypt at Nile university. I first chose the Computer Engineering program as my first path. However, during the first year which is a foundation year, I was fortunate enough to join a robotics competition which totally altered my future decision. This competition was about designing a fighter robot. I did not fell in love with the robotics itself alone, however, I was amazed by the tinkering behind it's design process. I had to learn using tinkering tools like laser cutter to design the frame, basic electronics skills like soldering, PCB design, and electronics selection, this is in addition to the basic programming skills. Therefore, I decided to change to the Mechatronics track as it is the most multi-disciplinary track offered in this Engineering Bsc Program. From there I started working on more projects and joined more competitions where my tinkering and engineering skills started getting stronger.
Afterwards, I was awarded a scholarship by the Austrian Ministry of science, research and education OeaD at the university of applied sciences upper Austria. This was My first experience abroad where I had so much to learn from working with and meeting students and professors from different countries. This experience helped me with strengthening my Multicultural leadership as well as my academic knowledge in various fields like project management, modelling, German language, and industrial engineering. Later on I moved to Lithuania, my third station in my bachelors trip. I joint the Mechatronics and Robotics program offered by Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. There I graduated with the second highest CGPA in the program. During this program, I performed yet another internship abroad in Turkey. This cumulation of different experiences made me a better team player of multi-cultural teams in addition to learning about different methods and approaches adopted in each country. Finally, lets fly from the past to the present while I am doing now my Msc program in Robotics at Utwente in the Netherlands. I am glad to be part of this innovation driven university where I am offered three scholarships which helps me to grow as a professional and as a person. |
